Next to the village is the Bosque Protector Mindo Nambillo. This large forest of 19,200 hectares was legally protected in 1995, thanks to the work of residents who were committed to the conservation of their environment and also environmental education in their community. To date, this forest remains the largest protected wooded area near the city of Quito (86 km). This is why our village is not only frequented by tourists, but also by Ecuadorians on weekends and holidays. Remember to book, if you plan to stay on holidays, because Mindo is very popular.
